A ROMAN PALE AUBERGINE GLASS JAR

The squat body with slightly concave base, the flaring neck with collar-like folded rim, some iridescence, 43/8 in. (11.1 cm.) high; a pale green glass balsamarium, the piriform lower body wound with turquoise spiral trail, the tall cylindrical neck with similar spiral threads and a spiral collar, with applied loop handle, 8 in. (20.3 cm.) high; a pale green glass double balsamarium, the twin tubular bodies wound with a single aubergine thread joined with the applied twin aubergine handles, 37/8 in. (9.8 cm.) high, both 4th-5th Century A.D.; and an iridescent pale green glass balsamarium, the tubular body on disc base, with twin applied handles, small rim repair, small hole and crack, 3rd-4th Century A.D., 4 in.
