A French brass striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm, last quarter 19th century
The anglaise riche Corinthian case of pagoda form, with silvered and engraved foliate filigree mask to the coloured enamel chapter disc with red and gold Roman numerals on cartouche reserves, blued steel spade hands, with alarm disc below, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on gong, with punched stamp B to the backplate -- 7¼in. (18.5cm.) high
