A French gilt-brass grande sonnerie carriage clock with alarm and calendar, last quarter 19th century
The cannelee case with white enamel Roman dial with blued steel fusee hands, with subsidiary rings for day, alarm and date, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate numbered 562, with three position adjustment lever to underside, with numbered key -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high; with travel case -- 6¾in. (16.5cm.) high
