The case with brass ball finial to the waisted pediment and further finials to the breakarch below, carved sound frets to the sides, with brass stop-fluted three-quarter pilasters to the front angles and an inlaid butterfly to the front, on brass ball feet, the silvered Roman convex dial signed EDWARD & SONS GLASGOW, with steel moon hands, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on gong, with pendulum holdfast (screw lacking) to the spot-finished backplate -- 19in. (48.5cm.) high
