The case with swan neck pediment to the hood, above scroll painted cornice panels (formerly verre eglomisé), with outset fluted columns with brass Corinthian capitals, the tracery arch trunk door with cross-banding and line inlay, flanked by three-quarter length cluster columns, above plinth with chamfered angles and raised on bracket feet, the 13½in. white dial with painted rolling moon in the arch, floral spandrels, with seconds ring and date aperture to a centre also painted with birds, signature rubbed away, black painted cut steel hands, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 91¾in. (233cm.) high
