The foliate cut brass case with waisted pediment surmounted by an ormolu figure of Cupid with a cockerel, with flambeau urn finials to the sides below, caryatids trailing bellflowers mounted to the upper angles, raised on four hairy paw feet, with relief cast figures emblematic of the Arts and Sciences below a cast dial plate incised with minutes to the outside and applied with individual white enamel Roman cartouche chapters, an enamel plaque below signed GRIBELIN A PARIS (cracked), steel hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell; movement associated to dial and case -- 28in. (71cm.) high
