The dial signed GODEFROY A PARIS, the movement signed Cailly
The glazed enamelled dial within a red-japanned case surmounted by a monkey holding a parasol, supported on the back of an elephant, on a later scrolled, naturalistically modelled base with foliage, the dial signed Godefroy A Paris, with pierced backplate

Cailly was active in Paris circa 1835-40.

JEAN-BAPTISTE GODEFROY

Jean-Baptiste Godefroy became horloger ordinaire du duc d'Orléans by licence on the 24 August 1739 and resigned in 1752, six years prior to his death. He appears to have worked almost exclusively as a watch specialist in the rue de Harley.
