The movement by Gaveau, Paris, Numbered 1046, Circa 1880
The top with ribbon-bound reeded edge above panelled sides centred to the base by shell and acanthus mounts and a Bacchic mask to the keyboard ends, the six-octave keyboard with scrolled lapette-cast ends, on waisted and square tapering legs headed by a pair of rams' masks and terminating in acanthus-capped ball feet, with lyre-shaped pedal support, the reverse of the keyboard cover inscibred in gilt GAVEAU/PARIS
