Oval, on flattened base, the rim with opaque white enamel band engraved with dot and dash, set wtih four square-cut sapphires at intervals, marked on rim

The above lot nephrite was purchased for 150 roubles by the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, mother of Tsar Nicholas II in 1914. The ashtray is listed with other items on a Fabergé bill dated 3 April 1914 addressed to her.
