Lot Essay

The attribution to Prins is based by comparison with similar studies in an album in the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam. One of the studies in that album, a fragment of a house, has been connected to a watercolour by Prins in the Rijksprentenkabinet (J.W. Niemeijer, Hollandse aquarellen uit de 18de eeuw, Zwolle, 1990-91, pp. 115-7, one page illustrated).
