Two album leaves, brown and black ink on lined visitor's book paper
Each leaf approximately 8 x 10 in. (22.3 x 25.3 cm.)
The first leaf signed in Chinese by Zhang Daqian, his wife Zhang Wenpo, and Zha Liangzhao, with the corresponding romanization written underneath in an unknown hand: Chang Dai-Chien, Chang Wen-Po, Cha Liang Chao. An additional poetic inscription by Zha Liangzhao, "Within the four seas, all are brothers"
The second leaf with a painting of Bodhidharma by Zhang Daqian, inscribed with a poem by the Qianlong emperor regarding the appearance of the Chan founder ("thick eyebrows, fallen teeth and dishevelled hair..."), and signed: Daqian jushi (2)
