A Collection of over eighty Sketches of mainly Buddhist Temples, Statues, Shrines and Figure Studies of Natives of Nepal from various Tribes

The Buddhas and Buddhist deities, some with Prabhas, include: Simhavaktra, Samantabhadra, Ratnay Valini Tara, Puspatara, Shiva and his consort Parvati, Vairocana and his consort in Yab Yum, Guru Rimpoche and Sadaksari Avalokiteshvara. The various shrines are situated in the Kathmandu Valley and include Buddhist and Hindu temples and stupas in Bhaktapur. Hodgson's pioneering work on Sanskrit Buddhist manuscripts, anthropology and other aspects of the Himalayan people's lives resulted in over sixty papers, published between 1828 and 1858. His large collection of manuscripts, many with drawings, were donated to various academic institutions in India, England and France, between 1827 and 1864.
