A PAIR OF ORMOLU THREE-BRANCH WALL-LIGHTS
Each with reeded and fluted tapering backplate surmounted by a panelled plinth with flowerhead to the centre, further surmounted by a column shaft with a cockerel, issuing three acanthus-wrapped fluted scrolling branches terminating in foliate-cast circular drip-pans and part-reeded cylindrical nozzles with four flowerheads in a band and husk-trails to the rim, the base with an acanthus clasp and ribbon-tied reeding, above a fruiting oak-leaf boss, one branch and one leg of a cockerel fractured

A related cockerel finial, swagged with laurel-baguettes featured in a design for a twin-branch wall-light by Jean-Louis Prieur of circa 1770 (illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P.Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, 3.5.1., p.172).
