The stepped top veneered à quatre faces, above a waved rectangular hinged fall-front flanked by berried foliate and acanthus C-scrolls, enclosing a fitted interior with leather-lined writing-surface and six serpentine-fronted drawers, one with fitted pen-tray, above an à quatre faces-veneered frieze drawer, the sides and reverse similarly veneered, on foliate and acanthus C-scroll headed cabriole legs with foliate sabots, restorations, possibly adapted (see below), one drawer with old catalogue description, indistinctly stamped 'N. A....APIE' and 'JME' to the right hand frieze

In spite of its odd proportions, this bureau would appear to be constructed consistently throughout.
