Inlaid overall with geometrical star patterns, the top, reverse and sides crossbanded, the hinged serpentine writing-slope enclosing a parquetry-veneered interior with a well, three short drawers and a gilt-leather writing-surface, above a shaped apron flanked by foliate mounts, on tapering cabriole legs with foliate sabots, restorations to the veneer of the writing-slope, stamped twice 'F.G' to the underside edge front and back
