Lot Essay

The Florentine firm Cantagalli was noted for its revival of the Hispano-moresque lustre glazes produced in the 1870's. William de Morgan in his lecture to the Society of Arts 1892, declared that some of the best lustres he had seen were those by Cantagalli.
