A LACQUER SUZURIBAKO
Late 17th/early 18th Century
Decorated in iroe hiramakie, takamakie, kimpun, kirigane, uchikomi and togidashi on a hirame ground, the cover with a high relief biwa, the rounded rim decorated with karakusa, the interior similarly decorated with two pheasants on rockwork beside a lake against a nashiji ground, the interior with two matching trays, one with autumnal flowers in a stream, the other fitted with an inkslate, (slight damage)
