A CONTINENTAL GOLD AND HARDSTONE SCENT-BOTTLE
possibly German, late 19th century, struck with the Austro-Hungarian mark for gold-works of foreign provenance 1901-1921
Amphora-shaped smoky quartz bottle with faceted lower half, the upper half and neck with gold mounted bands set with filigree and pierced foliate decoration, matching gold cap with globular finial, gold-capped cork stopper, the sides applied with two lion's heads holding suspension rings in their muzzles, the gold stem and spreading circular gold base similalry adorned with filigree and ringed lion's muzzles
