The vase is of square section, carved on the opposite sides of the waisted neck with a pair of mock taotie mask and ring handles, the semi-translucent yellow stone with minor areas of russet inclusions
4 in. (10.2 cm.) high, wood stand, box

Lot Essay

Compare with a white jade vessel with elephant-shaped handles of almost the same size (10.7 cm. high) in the National Palace Museum, inlcuded in the exhibition, The Refined Taste of the Emperor: Special Exhibition of Archaic and Pictorial Jades of the Ch'ing Court, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 15, p. 87.
