A PAIR OF POLYCHROME IVORY BEAUTIES
19th century
Each finely carved in the round within the curving shape of the tusk standing in long flowing robes incised with cloud scrolls and foliate patterns, variously holding a string of beads and a basket of flowers, the coiffed hair pulled back and pinned into a top knot, with tresses falling down the back, traces of the original blue, red, green and black pigments remaining, minor extremity chips, age cracks
28 in. (71 cm.) and 19½ in. (50 cm.) high, wood stands (2)
