A PAIR OF ITALIAN GILTWOOD THRONE ARMCHAIRS
Second quarter 18th Century
Each with arched shaped removable padded back, squab-cushion and seat covered in crimson velvet decorated with foliage in white and gilt thread, the toprail and sides carved with rockwork and foliage and headed by a crest and a cross inscribed "PAX", the arms with scrolling terminals, on cabriole legs headed by foliage and terminating in scrolling feet, regilt (2)
