With signature Shinsai, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Black grounds within a wood frame, decoration in gold, silver and coloured takamaki-e and shell, each panel with a cock, hen and chicks by a clump of bamboo, with a gold hiramaki-e signature Shinsai and a red lacquer seal Shin, some minor old damage
