(18 Sep 1804) Dispatch from Centurian detailing the action with the French Marengo (80), Atalante (40) and Semillante (36) in Vizagapatam Roads, Madras. Further dispatches from Vice-Admiral Peter Ranier covering the captures of eight French ships, including a French privateer captured by P. Heywood, HMS Dedaigneuss off the coast of Cochin. Peter Heywood was with the mutineers onboard the Bounty and then at Tahiti. He was taken prisoner onboard HMS Pandora, survived shipwreck, faced court martial in England and was sentenced to death. Earl Chatham interceded, and Heywood received an unconditional pardon and remained in the Royal Navy and gained a distinguished career.19-23 March, 1805: Gazette, (3 Feb 1805) Dispatch from Captain Farquhar late of HM Bomb Acheron (dated 12 Feb, Malaga Prison).
