She was exposed to the country's abundant wildlife in their natural habitat which she was fortunate to have shared for many years. After a number of years commiting to family responsibilities, Niki focused on her artistic career in the early 1980's. She began working in Indian ink applying the 'cross-hatch' technique in her portrayal of wildlife subjects which has proven to be highly successful in the formation of convincing images.
