A FINE AND RARE TEADUST-GLAZED JARDINIERE
IMPRESSED QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The jardiniere is strongly potted with rounded sides rising to a thickened rim; and all covered in a deep, rich green glaze with fine yellow specks; the reign mark is covered in a brown glaze within the countersunk base

Compare to the example with a Yongzheng mark in the National Palace Museum, Taibei, included in Qing Kang Yong Qian Mingci Tezhan, A Special Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Kangxi Yongzheng and Qianlong Ceramics, 1986, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 56.

A Qianlong-marked example was sold in these rooms, 3 November 1998, lot 939. This particular shape also appears in a robin's-egg-glaze, such as the Qianlong impressed example in the Helen and Peter Bernat Collection, included in the Min Chiu Society Silver Jubilee Exhibition, Anthology of Chinese Art, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 187.
