A collection of approximately 170 cut signatures and autograph letters bound in a red calf album, 4°, including cut signatures of Charles Dickens, Palmerston, Aberdeen, Malmesbury, W.E. Gladstone, Queen Victoria, Wellington, Robert Peel, Earl Grey, James Paget, artists such as Augustus Egg, Holman Hunt, Edwin Landseer, Lord Leighton and John Everett Millais, musicians including Charles Hallé and musical quotations from Archer and Linley, with various nobility. Also included are autograph letters from William Sterndale Bennett requesting opera tickets, Edmund Yates, Thomas Sidney Cooper (including a small sketch), Henry Stacey Marks and Simeon Solomon regarding a drawing, amongst others.
With another album, folio, bound in green calf, containing approximately 50 cut signatures and autograph letters, including a 3pp autograph letter from Thomas Henry Huxley to Foster regarding an article, a thank you letter from Princess Helena Augusta Victoria (daughter of Queen Victoria), 2pp letter from Maurice Lockyer to Lady Foster on the death of her husband, with cut signatures of Lister, Lankester, Devonshire, Joseph Chamberlain, various clergy and others.
