A fine example, by WALKER & Co. SACKVILLE ST LONDON W., serial No. 14600, the blade etched with Royal Arms on one side and the RAF Eagle on the other, both sides bearing foliate decoration and four blank scrolls, hilt with richly-gilt guard incorporating GVR cypher, backstrap and Eagle's head pommel, wire-bound sharkskin grip, gold lace and acorn sword-knot, in black leather scabbard with gilt-brass locket, middle band and chape of Air Officer's pattern, each with a band of bayleaf decoration in relief (gilt of scabbard-mounts largely rubbed)
