A 'BARCELONA' FAÇON DE VENISE ENAMELLED VASE AND AN ASSOCIATED COVER
19th Century
Enamelled in shades of green, blue, ochre, white and brown, the cylindrical bowl with opposing pairs of birds perched on vertical flowering foliage beneath a band enclosing flowerheads within circles, supported on a hollow knop and spreading foot enamelled with wave and line ornament, the associated cover similarly decorated, (the vase with a hole and related crack to the base of the bowl and with filled-in hole to the side)
