2° (570 x 450). Letterpress list of contents, 51 engraved maps, hand-coloured or hand-coloured in outline, three single-page, two folded, 48 double-page of which 15 are folded, all mounted on guards. (Lacking title, minor marginal tears, maps 2, 5 and 39 torn in fold). Contemporary half-calf (rebacked and recornered, section of original spine laid down). Provenance: Tho. Will. Fermor (bookplate), Easton Neston Library shelf-label.
Although the majority of the maps were published by Faden between 1778 and 1803, European Part of the Russian Empire and Turkey in Asia were published by Laurie and Whittle in 1794, and Asia was published by Bowles.
