The 1997 is the first vintage of this multi-vineyard, single-region, Barossa Valley blend. As with Magill Estate, the RWT style is a contrast to Grange. It is an opulent, voluptuous expression of Barossa Shiraz yet aromatic, floral, and matured in French oak, 50 new, to give finesse and structure.

"Black/purple. Intense, blackberry, chocolate, licorice aromas with touches of gingersnap. Very rich and concentrated, with sweet, chocolate, blackberry, plum fruit, underlying, beautifully integrated, savoury oak, textured, high-pixel tannins and superb, long finish. Still elemental but in excellent balance. "
