VARIOUS PROPERTIES One of the most talented artists to work with galuchat, Clément Rousseau created unique furniture for a variety of private clients, including the Rothschilds. His designs combine galuchat, sometimes in pink, gray, blue or green tones, with rare woods or other luxurious materials, including ivory and leather. Rousseau studied under Léon Morice, and his work was regularly exhibited at the Salons of the Société des Artistes Français beginning in 1921. There, he won an honorable mention in 1923, a bronze medal in 1926, and another honorable mention for his sculpture in 1930. His work was also shown at the Galerie Charpentier in Paris in 1926. In 1925, Rousseau was among the designers commissioned to furnish Jacques Doucet's studio in Neuilly.
