worked in needle-loop technique with a pair of phoenixes with outstretched wings flanking a lotus flower, the ground strewn with polychrome cloud bands, late Yuan/early Ming Dynasty, 13th/14th century--19.5cm x 69cm, ground partially replaced with red silk damask, mounted on a stretcher with plexiglass cover
