Old ink notations to title and following leaf, some uncut edges slightly tired and finger-soiled. Later gray wrappers, uncut (rear wrapper spotted), cloth folding case. FIRST EDITION of this account of axe-murder on the high seas, a crew killed by mutiny with only the captain spared to navigate and the captain's single-handed (almost literally as he was wounded in the arm) recapturing of his vessel from the pirates.
Provenance: With a TLS from Michael Walsh of Goodspeed's Bookshop dated 24 April 1956 offering the present lot at $35 and commenting on the connection with another pamphlet in the Driscoll Collection (see lot 151). OCLC lists two locations. Evans 39087; Sabin 103227.
