The straight blade of ovoid-elliptical section, decorated with etched panels of scroll on each side, marked United States Medical Staff, with cast brass hilt bearing silver MS on langet with thirteen stars, gold bullion sword-knot, brass scabbard with three decorated mounts, surrounding inscription on reverse resented to/Egon A Koerper M.D./by the Inmates of Wards 37. & 38. U.S.A./General Hospital Chestnut Hill/March 14th 1863/As A Token Of Regard. With twenty-eight cdv's of Egon Keorper, his family and relations. Together with a USN Model 1852 sword probably 1940's (2)
