A pair of Ansbach models of caparisoned horses
Second quarter of the 18th Century
Modelled to the left and right, each with a raised foreleg, decorated in cold-enamels and gilding with pink noses, black ears, manes and tails, with gilt and black bridles and gilt rosettes to their manes, ochre, gilt and red saddles tied below with a green girdle and green gilt-studded straps to their bound tails, on waisted rectangular grassy mound bases with canted corners (wear to cold enamels, minute wear to gilding, minute fritting to extremities, one with restoration to ears, broken through legs and repaired and with small chip to base at back corner, the other with repair to one ear and chipping to front corner of base)
