A Northern European fayence watch-stand
Circa 1765, probably Eckernförde, blue cross mark, the Swiss or French watch last quarter of the 18th Century
Painted in petit feu colours, modelled as a hollow tree-stump with two trailing branches, the front with a circular aperture edged on the left with scrolls and pierced rocaille and with a farm-boy seated on a flowering branch to the right (chipping to extremities, extensive damages), the silver verge watch with white enamel Roman and Arabic dial painted with a garland of flowers
