A German fayence duck-tureen and cover
Circa 1755
Naturally modelled and painted in grand feu colours enriched with petit feu manganese enamel, with an ochre and brown beak with managanese markings, blue patches about its eyes, a green and pale-turquoise neck and chest, its chest with a mottled manganese patch, its wings and tail-feathers with pale-blue, ochre and pale-green plumage with managanese tips and markings, on ochre webbed feet (areas of slight or minute flaking and grazing to glaze, tureen with two areas of restoration to exterior to disguise flaking or chipping, restored chipping to one foot, crack to chest from rim)
