With slender waisted neck, the centre named for ·AQ·ACETOSA· on a long stylised scroll against a ground of richly scrolling blue, ochre, brown and turquoise foliage (flaking to glaze)

Lot Essay

The inscription would appear to refer to Sorrel (Rumex acetosa); both the leaves and root of the plant were used.
