Lot Essay

Basoli worked for a short period in Saint Petersburg. On his return to Italy he published Raccolta di 50 Scene Teatrali in 1810 and Collezione di Varie Scene Teatrali in 1821. He succeeded Alessandro Sanquirico as the head stage designer at the Scala, Milan.
