A pair of Ludwigsburg pastoral groups
Circa 1760, blue crowned inlerlaced C marks, painter's iron-red S marks and incised 52, he incised W 3A, she 3C.CO.C.
The shepherd wearing a pale-yellow hat, red-lined blue edged white jacket and pale-yellow breeches, playing a flute and sitting on a tree-stump, the shepherdess in a pale-yellow hat, brown-edged red bodice, purple-edged white apron, and blue and gilt flowered white dress, playing the lute and seated on rockwork, each with a lamb at their feet, on shaped oval rockwork bases applied with moss (his hat with slight restoration to brim, tip of flute and part of stick through lamb's collar lacking, small chip to edge of back of base, she with small chip to hat, minute chipping to hat and shoe ribbons, lamb's left foreleg and tip of right ear lacking, minute chipping to edge of base)
