A Höchst mythological cup and trembleuse saucer
Circa 1780, blue wheel and incised ni marks
The cup with slightly tapering sides and snake handle, painted with a kneeling old man presenting a large golden ewer to a queen, her attendant and two Roman soldiers nearby before a triumphal arch, within a jewelled oval cartouche against a border of interwoven garlands and gilt laurel below the rim, the flat border of the saucer with a continous band of interwoven garlands and gilt laurel, gilt line rims (restored rim chip with associated overpainting to part of rim, slight wear to gilt lines)
