Bolviller à Paris, no.76. Second quarter 19th century
The caratides case mounted with figures in niches to the angles, with chamfered angles and on base cast with grapes and vines, the handle modelled as entwined mermaids and stamped 76, with shuttered winding holes to a rear door cast in low relief with scroll designs, the white enamel Roman dial with moon hands and sweep centre seconds, signed BOLVILLER A PARIS below VI, with alarm ring below, the twin barrel movement with Bolviller type elaborate scroll engraved and matted platform to the bimetallic balance with helical spring and now with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on bell to the backplate stamped BOLVILLER A PARIS and numbered 76
