Title-pages and text printed in red and black. 162 photographic plates, some tinted, printed on india paper and mounted, and smaller photographic illustrations mounted in text. Original black half morocco gilt, marbled boards, spines in six compartments, with five raised bands, gilt-lettered in two, an ornament panel of a triple-fillet border centering a large fleuron in gilt, t.e.g. (a few small scuffs on covers and spine bands).
