Why was this coin bent? For good luck as the ship was sinking? From participation in the breaking up of the ship in which it was struck by a timber or something else? We may never know. Again, a fascinating museum display item. Die alignment: 1700 (coin turn). 254.0 grains. 27.2 mm.
