A George II walnut quarter chiming turntable musical bracket clock

The case with gilt-brass handle to the brass-lined inverted bell top surmounted by four urn finials, twin glazed panels to the sides with later pierced brass sound frets, the front and rear with foliate cast spandrel quarter sound frets, chamfered angles leading to the brass-bound moulded base pivoting on the plinth supported on four moulded gilt-brass block feet, the dial signed Stepn: Asselin, London on a silvered plaque in the matted centre with decorated calendar and mock pendulum apertures, central alarm disc, the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, Indian mask-and-foliate lower spandrels, the upper spandrels interrupted by subsidiary silvered rings for strike/silent and the two tunes engraved Ye General Health/Rigadoon, the arch with painted rolling moonphase, the six pillar triple chain fusee movement with verge escapement, pull wind alarm with pulley on the backplate, the music playing on eight bells via sixteen hammers and with hour strike on further bell, the backplate engraved with birds amongst scrolling foliage and a central basket of flowers; partially re-veneered
