The case with rising domed hood with pierced wood frieze frets above the dial and to the sides, the associated 6 in. sq. dial engraved Joseph Knibb London interrupting the scored line border beneath the silvered Roman chapter ring with single blued steel hand, matted centre, winged cherub spandrels, the four pillar lantern movement of typical construction with verge escapement and short bob pendulum, countwheel strike on bell above; composite - later dial, movement and case basically late 17th Century with restorations and alterations
