Of Louis XVI style, 19th Century
Each with a backplate with a putto holding oak-leaf swags and surmounted by a swagged urn finial, with upspringing branches with reeded and leaf-wrapped drip-pans and conforming nozzles, fitted for electricity

Lot Essay

A virtually identical pair of wall lights was sold Sotheby's Monaco, 23 February 1986, lot 877. A similar model with three candle-branches is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 173, figs. 3.5.5 and 3.5.7.
