With six rectangular recessed panels within moulded borders, mounted with ormolu keyhole escutcheons, handles and plaques chased with foliage and drapery, the door handles with circular knobs chased with floral medallions

Lot Essay

This door is one from the State Rooms at Henham Hall, Suffolk which was designed by James Wyatt, circa 1790 and subsequently demolished in 1953.
The Worshipful Company of Mercers sold a collection of nineteen doors from Henham Hall at Christie's, London on 27 June, 1957, lots 82-83
