The rectangular box with chased floral base rim, the hinged lid engraved "Rev. Thomas Burke D.D. Portuma" surrounded by a rim of hounds at full stretch on chased background of leafy foliage, shells at the corners and chased rose, thistle and foliate thumbpiece, the gilt interior marked twice each with "2 lion passant/2 king's heads/DB"
