The Spinola family, this estates owners, have links with Tassarolo going back to 1367. Powerful enough to have been given the right to coin their own money, which they did until the 17th century, the estate was reduced in size in the 19th century to it's current holding's. Ambrigio Spinola is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes, it spends 8 months in barriques and can last for up to 20 years. Like many of Italy's rising wine stars it has to be classified as table wine in this case Vino Bianco.
